WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

What lights my fire? It's the possibility of doing something creative and wonderful on stage, in front of camera, or with my writing. And, when it happens, when it really works, the feeling is indescribable. Sometimes it just seeing something marvelous, some like Meryl Streep playing Mother Courage. I just go nuts when I see that kind of talent.

WHAT DO YOU FIND INSPIRING?

I count among the influences in my life and career some spectacular human beings, The list would have to include the famed Croatian theatre director and acting teacher, Georgij Paro, whose inspired teaching put me on the path of a career in the arts. There are my old college teachers, Steven Kent and David Flaten, whose guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to go forward. There is my mentor and friend, Lee Brock, at The Barrow Group. Lee is there when I need her to provide support or guidance. 'and, course, Judy Bowman who keeps me on my toes and keeps me honest. The list could go on to include so many others: actors, directors, teachers, and family members. I am in this respect a very lucky girl.

TELL US A FUNNY STORY ABOUT YOURSELF.

A funny story about myself? Okay, here's one. When I was a little kid, maybe five years old, we had two basset hounds, Cookie and Boo. They were fat and kind of old, and Boo had some issues, only I really didn't know anything about that. I was five, right. Okay, so one day Boo isn't there. My dad says Boo went to New York to join jazz quartet. As I said, I'm five. I bought it. Years later, college years later, I'm having dinner with my mom. We are reminiscing about family, and she says: "When Boo died…. " And I go: "What! Wait… Boo died?" It was like I was still willing to buy the idea he went to New York to join a jazz quartet. My mom was cracking up over it, but there's me still wanting to believe he went to New York.
